When a medical industry client based in Spicewood, Texas contracted C&P Plastic to manufacture a battery housing, we combined our vacuum forming and CNC milling technology to build this part to print. Constructed from black ABS plastic, this battery housing is used within a children's wheelchair application.
After we vacuum formed both the battery housing and lid, we then employed our HAAS milling machine to clean up all molding and drill all holes. Meeting a +/- .030" tolerance, we built the battery housing to measure precisely 9.5 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 9 inches high. The part also weighed 1.2 lbs.
After manufacturing was complete, we then used a combination of height and pin gauges and calipers to inspect the part for any flaws. Once assured that our battery housing lived up to client expectations for quality, we then delivered the completed part to our buyer's facility in Spicewood, Texas.
